The Man Behind the Mission
Donnie Boivin didn’t come from money, connections, or a family business. He’s the founder of Success Champion Networking and the Badass Business Summit. The full story is below.
The Beginning
Donnie Boivin was waiting tables at Bennigan’s when Jane Miranda walked in and changed everything. She didn’t hire him because of a resume. She hired him because of how he showed up in a room.
That’s the first lesson that stuck, the way you carry yourself matters more than anything on paper.
Before Bennigan’s he served in the United States Marine Corps. Four years. Separated in 1999. He doesn’t talk about it much. What it gave him was simple, a clear understanding of what it means to show up and do the work regardless of how you feel about it that day.
Coming out he had no roadmap. No family business to step into. No connections in the business world. Just the same thing he had at Bennigan’s, the ability to walk into a room and make people feel like the conversation mattered.
The Build and the Crash
That turned into 25 years in B2B sales. Commercial printing. Then more industries. Then speaking. Then writing. Then building.
Along the way he figured out what most salespeople never do — that the relationship always outlasts the transaction. That trust built slowly compounds faster than any shortcut. That the right room full of the right people is worth more than a thousand cold calls.
“The relationship always outlasts the transaction.”
— Donnie Boivin
When he decided to go all in on entrepreneurship the early years were brutal.
The pipeline dried up.
The options ran out.
Elizabeth cashed her 401k.
She didn’t do it without hesitation. It was a hard conversation. The kind where you look at each other and decide what you actually believe. She made the call anyway.
That money kept the doors open. More importantly it changed what failure meant. You don’t walk away from someone who handed you their retirement savings and said go.
What He Built
He built Success Champion Networking because the networking organization he needed didn’t exist.
He launched the Badass Business Summit because the event he wanted to attend didn’t exist.
He wrote five books because the straight-talking B2B playbook he was looking for wasn’t on the shelf.
Everything Donnie has built came from the same place. A clear-eyed look at what was broken and a refusal to wait for someone else to fix it.

Beyond the Business
Donnie and his wife Elizabeth run At A Slant Farm in Azle, Texas where they raise Nigerian Dwarf goats.
If you follow Donnie on LinkedIn you already know about Baby Goat Sunday, his weekly content series that has nothing to do with networking and everything to do with showing up as a real person.
That’s still how he operates today. From a farm in Azle, Texas, with Elizabeth, a herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, and a whole lot of unfinished work left to do.
